Summer camp week 3

July 19, 2019

Friday: Today for lunch we had fried rice-noodles and sweet and sour chicken. You can choose if you want rice or not.

The JK kids had baking today. The teacher made the dough and the kids got to press it flat. Then they baked it and we ate some. I got two 🙂

They also got to make paper airplanes with the GOOS paper (good on one side).

Summer Camp Week 2 Day 4

July 11, 2019

For lunch, we had pizza. I received pepperoni pizza instead of regular cheese, because I was a helper. It was from pizza pizza.

In gym class, a girl named Audrey tripped and hit her head. She started crying and so I took her to the office. In the hallways, she barfed, so I told her to lie down on the couch. I placed some tissue paper and told her to sleep on her side. She slept for a while before the principal called her mother who would pick her up earlier. Audrey then ate a popsicle stick and went back to class after feeling better. The principal then told us next time don’t worry too much, first observer and then draw conclusions, because he didn’t want to bother the parents too much.

Summer Camp Week 2 Day 2

July 9, 2019

Today for lunch we had two slices of cheese pizza from pizza pizza. It was very good. We also had fruit punch.

We followed the same routine. However today a girl named Vera peed her pants and I had to help her clean her shoe because she got some on her shoe. She also needed help changing. And Scarlet she got stepped on so we went to the office for an ice pack.

Summer Camp Day 3

July 4, 2019

Not much has been happening, it’s usually the usual. The kids eat, we watch youtube videos, they learn some characters, we go to the gym, they come back to the class, keep playing, have a snack time, and then they leave.

But sometimes some funny things happen.

There’s a pair of twins in the class. Their names are Jalin and Jasmine. They both don’t close the door when they go to the washroom. Once a boy even almost went in before we stopped them.

Sometimes the boys also don’t wash their hands and we have to remind them. >.<

But they are a really fun class to watch over.

Fishing Camp

August 24 2016

Today at fishing camp, we signed in as usual, and went fishing! After a few minutes, I caught two fish! One was a pumpkin seed fish, and another was a sun fish. There were both small fish, but my first two fish in less than an hour! Rose also caught a pumpkin seed.

After around what was one hour, we head back to the gazebo for a presentation from the Fly Fishing Group. They talked about how to fly fish for a while, and then they said they had two activities planned for us! So we split into two groups, 6 people in each, and one group went to learn how to cast with a fly fishing rod, while the other group made the thing you put as bait with a hook. Then we got to try to cast with a fly fishing rod, and one of the rod’s hook was caught on the telephone wire! Luckily, the string on the rod was made out of rubber. But all we had to do to get the hook off the wire was just pull it a little and there it went off.

When we got bored of it, we got to go fishing, but I didn’t catch any fish. In fact, those were my last two fish I caught for the day. Then both groups started fishing when we got to go for lunch. We had pizza for lunch — pepperoni or cheese. I took pepperoni, and also two oatmeal raisin cookies.

After lunch, someone named Sam caught a big fish! Apparently it was a big huge redhorse fish, or was it a silver horse fish? It was so big we had to use the net to catch it! After he got his picture, we let it go back into the water quick because those types of fish aren’t that strong. But it was really cool!

When it was 3:00, my dad came to pick us up. We got a taco box with everything needed for fishing! We also got to keep our fishing rods, and then we left!

Fishing Camp

August 23 2016

Our dad registered my sister Rose and me for a two day fishing camp. We first signed in and got name tags, then we talked about poison ivy, wild parsnip, ticks, and water safety. Then we got our fishing rods, and had to put the string through the holes and put the hooks, bobbers, and weight on the string, put on our life jackets, and tally-ho to the river.

When we got to the river, there was a boat with people from the South Nation CONSERVATION area (Brent, Kiersty, Molly (the teachers) were also from there) and they said they looked in their turtle traps and found a snapping turtle! So we cooked the turtle and ate it. Just kidding. They caught turtles to record them and measure them. The snapping turtle is the hardest one to record because it tries to snap you. But they eventually did everything and let it go back into the river.

Then we started fishing. I didn’t catch any fish. But hopefully on the second day I do! There was a fish that someone caught, and the fish swallowed the hook and it was inside his stomach! The fish was bleeding very badly. We got it back in the water, but we pronounced it dead when a few minutes later he was floating upside down. 😦   It was really icky. The same icky as in putting worms on your hook by yourself. :/

For lunch, they got us some sandwiches from SUBWAY!!!! You could have a sandwich with turkey, ham, chicken, or with just cheese. Then you put whatever you want on it. The choices were lettuce, tomato, green peppers, mayo sauce, and mustard. I took

The smallest and biggest fish were both caught by Rose. HEY don’t say that she’s better, it’s the fish that won’t eat my wormy. The worm did look juicy too. 😀 HEY, I didn’t eat the worm. Though if I were a fish, I would fall for the trick.

Like a normal beginner, a lot of people (like me) had tangles with their rod. So Brent and Kiersty helped everyone untangle them. For a lot of people, the tangles were either really hard to untangle, easy or tangled with someone else. Sometimes it was so hard to untangle that Brent had to use his pocket knife to cut the string and re-attach the string and cut the extra string off the knot so the knot part wouldn’t get tangled when we reel the string in.

On the way back, since our dad bought St-Albert poutine we ate poutine!! 😀 It had french fries, cheese curds, mayo sauce, gravy, green peppers :/  (eww) and meat. The meat tasted good. But it was a pretty small box for 5.99$. (Or was it 6.99?) My dad also bought a salad. 🙂

VBS September 2015

On the first Saturday of September, my dad brought me my sister Rose to St Paul Lutheran Church for VBS. We first got our own name tags, then watched other people play Twister. Mary Ann, a girl, challenged Pasteur to play. Pasteur decided to give it a try, and he actually won! It was because if you fall, you lose, and Mary Ann fell, but Pasteur had very easy moves! Then a helper named Sarah did a skit with Mary Ann and his brother Christian. Mary Ann was Jesus, and Christian was the devil. The devil was trying to make Jesus sin, but he knew the whole bible, and defeated the devil.

After the skit, we had snack time. I got cheese, goldfish crackers, green grapes, and juice. It was all tasty!

We then got into groups. I was in the pink group with my sister Rose, Mary Ann, and Christian. We had a worksheet were we colored scuba divers, and we had to color a submarine the same color. To know what color, the scuba divers had people wanting to sin, and the submarines had God’s word that forbid them to sin. Then we played hang man because there was still a few more minutes.

Then we got to paint a canvas with a cross with a bible sentence. Mine was pink, but I really liked Rose’s canvas. It was very pretty!

For lunch, we ate chilly and garlic bread. We also got ice cream!  I got vanilla and chocolate.

Then we played games, and went home!

CodeDojo

Auguest 29 2015

Today my dad brought me, my sister Rose and my brother Kingsong to CodeDojo. It is a club that teaches people to code. There were two choices. Web development, and video games. I chose to do video games. We went on Scratch, and made a new game. It was when you had a sprite, and make it jump over another animal. If you want to try my game, click here for the link. Then I played different games that other people made. Then I tried doing Web Development, and we were supposed to do Codecademy. But since I had a hard time doing a question, and he couldn’t help me, he told me that I could continue playing Scratch, so I did.

Then we went home!

Closing ceremony

At the Carlingwood library, my mom brought my sister Rose and me to the Carlingwood library for the closing ceremony of the summer reading club. My friend Faye and her little sister Zoe was there too! Emily was there, but she’s mean to me. So I don’t like her. But I still am nice to her anyways. We first played a “gameshow” called “A minute to win it!”. But only for one of the games, they would time you, and the limit of time is sixty seconds.

Finally, I got chosen to play. But guess who I was against! ROSE! A sister vs sister game. We had to use cups to stack a mountain. Rose won, and got 3 smarties boxes as a prize. But she gave me two boxes because she had one at home and it would be fair for me to have two too!

Then we got cake. I got chocolate. So did Rose, Faye, Zoe, and Emily. It was delicious!

For our crafts, we used a wooden mixing spoon to make a person, but on the other side, it was a monster! LOL XD

Then we got to choose a book to bring home, and then went home!

Baseball

As I was on the blue jays team (not the professional team), we went against the KID TEAM St Louis Cardinals. But really, THEY ARE GOOD! They hit the ball very hard so that it goes into the grass! I was really impressed. I bet they were trained by professional person!

Obviously we lost, but only by 2 points! I was very happy because at the end, we got Popsicle!
